I wanna be a kid again! - billy elliot

Recently I went to see Billy Elliot - the musical at the Victoria Palace. I know Billy Elliot is a standard cliche performance to go and watch. But I thought “hey why not?” the tickets were at a reasonable price so why not treat myself to a lovely west end production. I wish I could do that all the time but living the student life and wot not I can’t :(

I know that Billy Elliot is such a cliche production to watch, I kinda had some pre-thoughts on what it would be like - a couple songs and a few kids and a boy prancing around the stage in tights, I mean how much can a 1999 production differentiate from any of the previous attempts of the book? But it was nothing like that! Well yeah it was like that because that’s pretty much the story but it had more.

Not gonna lie I was extremely impressed. The dancing from the cast was beautiful as well. There were little girls from the age of 5 and above that ballet danced as if they had been dancing since they were in the womb! The cast sang as if they were singing for the queen, for a moment I actually thought I was in the royal opera house, It was impeccable perfection! Although for a childrens book it had a number of profanities - but I guess that just gives it it’s authenticity! ;)

If I could I would literally go and watch it again, it was so much fun and I loved every minute of it…….Billy + Elliot = the best west end production I have seen to date! ;) I want everyone to take my advice and go watch it!!

find me something to do please!

My cute hot chocolate…..gotta have that ring feature ;)

Took a trip to Portobello market for the first time in my whole life! I don’t about you but when I think of a market I think of great stuff for massively cheap prices. Portobello market, great stuff - not cheap prices. I tweeted ‘vintage shopping at Portobello market’ but maybe I should have tweeted ‘window shopping at Portobello market because I’m clearly too poor to shop here! lol’ - I think that would have gone down better. But no worries I will just go there when I’m massively rich and wealthy, which hopefully will happen soon!

Only you can show and allow yourself the happiness that is deserved!
